Miniconf, a company that’s devoted to kids fashion manufacturing. It was born in 1973 from the vision of its today’s president: Giovanni Basagni.
It was born in Ortignano, in the heart of the Casentino valley, in the eastern side of Tuscany, a land that it’s a dream in itself, between the mountains covered with beech and fir trees, the hills delimited by the oak and chestnut trees, the abrupt cliffs and the valley where the young Arno river flows.
Maybe it’s exactly this environment, which combines with such perfect harmony these contrasting elements, the real secret engine that has been driving, since the very first years, the quiet and steady growth of this company: from a 2-billion-lira turnover to 35 billion in the eighties, reaching 45 billion in the nineties, and finally attaining 75 billion euro in the 2010 financial year.
Today Miniconf is leader in its trade, thanks to its brands Sarabanda, Dodipetto and iDO, to its multi-channel distribution, to its attention for the latest technologies, to its state-of –the art logistics, and last but not least, to its great understanding of the market’s and consumer’s needs.
Also the Casentino valley, with the spirituality of its churches and the boldness of its rocky peaks, must certainly be regarded as a fundamental element.
So must be the proud and strong character of its people, (we must remember that most of the company’s workers have long-lasting “roots” right in this area), or the fact of operating in Tuscany, a live and active region, birthplace of many artists and excellent craftsmen since the Middle Ages.
